When Paul told the brethren in Thessalonica to “prove all things; hold fast that which is good,” it was groundbreaking advice, and it is more needful than ever for the Church of God in these end times! We have to test our beliefs individually and as a community, continually and rigorously against the only standard that counts—the Bible (Acts 5:29).
It’s a fact that there’s no religion without prayer. While many religions have set and definite times for prayer, Christianity does not. Instead, we are given the command to pray without ceasing.
No matter where you are in the world I’m sure it isn’t 100% free of violent crime and mass deaths. There’s always that minimum of 0.1% suffering affecting someone’s life somewhere.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up…..
Like the prodigal son, there are times God lets us go down the wrong road so we can realize our mistakes willfully return to Him. I had to go down this road to be fully convinced that nothing will ever go right when I work without or go behind God.
