#FunFactFriday – Because TGIF!
Today is #goodfriday and all over the world we share the grief of Jesus’ crucifixion and death on the cross but did you know, that he was nailed in his wrists rather than his hands as most people commonly believe?
The human body supports its weight via joints and ligaments, if Jesus had been nailed in his hands, He would simply have fallen off!!
It is reported as “hands” in the bible because in those days, the wrists were still believed to be a part of the hand.

Then Jesus WAS nailed in His hands to the cross. The culture of the day identified the wrist as part of the hands. And the Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God says He was nailed to the cross by His hands. The prophecy (Psalm 22) says he was pierced through the hands and the feet. We as 21st Century Christians need desperately to stop imposing 21st Century understanding on 1st century culture, AND on the Holy Spirit. You think you know BETTER?
